what you need to know for the bio test

for those who did not go to the "class" with Mr Low, this is what we went through: (basicallY, or if you too lazy to read this refer to PSK and my qn and ans system which is on some other tab in the bloggg. but this is the more important stuff)
- dichotomous key
steps to construct:
  • list characteristics
  • do a flowchart (as a draft)
  • do the dichotomous key
Unless u so pro can do the dichotomous key straight, above is the guideline on how to construct dichotomous keyyy

- 5 kingdoms
monera
protista
fungi (funny how this is the only kingdom which is not a spelling mistake)
plantae
animalia

- hierarchical taxonomy thing.
kingdom
phylum
class
order
family
genus
species
the weird aid: katy perry crossed ocean for good something

- binomial naming system
two name system
latin names
first name is genus
second name is species
purpose is to let the same name be used throughout and ppl wun be confused
italics when typing, underline when writing, because some ppl write is alr italics :D

- symbiosis
commensalism, mutualism, parasitism
rmb at least one example

adaptations
be able to know the diff characteristics for the diff kingdoms
give good examples according to that
eg, seahorse and horse
have gills and have lungs

ThREAts:
- water pollution
remember definition
- deforestation, urbanization, hunting
remember impacts (3 points each)
easier way to memorise, find similar points so that can ans for all qns.

reading graphs
- find differences in percentage for the kind in ur notes abt increasing urbanization
- what else can you infer from the graph?
- remember to read the y axis properly, take note of numbers and stuff :D

thats all that we went through. basically the topics/sub-topics that we will be tested on. dunno whether is accurate a not, TOO HUNGRY to remember everything he said
