2.1. Gentle Reminder: 2012 Secondary 3 Course of Study – Applied Subjects

Parents’ Briefing

As previously communicated, the briefing session for parents on the Applied

Subjects (AS) that will be offered in Secondary 3 next year, will be

conducted on:

Date: 30 September 2011

Time: 7.00 pm

Venue: SST Hall

Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) lecturers will be on-hand during this briefing

session to provide details of respective Applied Subjects; such as the

course content and programming, assessment means and modes,

expectations and demands of each Applied Subject, and future educational

or career opportunities that could be opened up as a result of offering a

particular Applied Subject.

The lecturers will also share their experiences offering some of the Applied

Subjects to other schools and showcase samples of student works and

products. Following the briefings will be a Q&A session to enable you to

clarify and seek a better understanding of the Applied Subjects.

Light refreshments will be served prior to the briefing session.

Kindly note that a separate briefing session on AS will be conducted for

your children during curriculum time.
